Twenty-five-year-old Liya Petrova from Bulgaria plays a very special violin. It was made by the Italian instrument maker Matteo Gofriller and it is over three hundred years old. This is a plus: violins are like good wines. They grow better with age.
Liya Petrova’s violin is so valuable that she can’t afford to buy it. She has borrowed it from a foundation, but although it is only on loan, she has a very close relationship with her instrument.
“I take it everywhere. I sleep with it: I could not fall asleep if my violin is not in the room”.
