Eugen Tichindeleanu, leader of the Odense Symphony Orchestra and on the 2016 Carl Nielsen Violin Competition jury, talks to Rie Koch about what the jury expects of the contestants. Maturity and personality will count for a lot as the competing violinists play music in a wide range of idioms, ranging from the young, sensitive Mozart via the pyrotechnics of Paganini to the demanding Bach compositions, all within a very short space of time.
