The 2016 Carl Nielsen Violin Competition is in full swing and this evening will see the official opening ceremony at a gala concert at the Odense Koncerthus. The spotlight will not be on the competitors but on the violin stars of tomorrow. Seventy young Danes from the age of eight to the age of twenty will take the stage to give us a taste of their musical talents. One of them is Mathias Ersson Jessen. Earlier in the day he gave us a brief demonstration of how a violin actually works.
